A recent US study found that Facebookin moms are hotter than non-mothers who use social media.
At least when it comes to being targets of savvy marketers, that is. The study of almost 3,000 active social networkers in the U.S. found that mothers are more likely to be active on social networking sites compared to other women, making them hot targets for companies promoting their brands online.
According to the study by Performics, moms are hot marketing targets in several areas:
- Moms are 75 percent likelier than other women to trust information that companies post on social media. So that makes them hot marketing targets and gullible. - Moms are 45 percent more likely to base purchasing decisions on peers’ recommendations. - Mothers are also more likely to visit Facebook at least daily, more likely to own smartphones, and say that Facebook is very/extremely important in their lives.
Not only are they more likely to make a buying decision based on their social media use, but they are likely to champion their favorite companies on social media.
So on behalf of our friends at Proctor and Gamble, we would like to say, thanks, mombassadors.
